GRANTS PASS, Ore. — Hundreds of foster kids in Josephine County will get a Christmas this year.
The non-profit organization Our Foster Kids raised a little under $12,000 in one night for those kids. It’s the most the group has ever raised.
Community members donated at the Fourth Annual Masquerade Ball over the weekend. The money will go to help 200 foster kids and 200 kids with the department of human services.
“We give the case workers an opportunity to go out and be the hero. We don’t expect a thank you, we don’t want a thank you. We just want these kids to know that that they are vital part of our community,” said Organizer Bea Ryan.
Our Foster Kids does several fundraisers throughout the year, giving gifts during Easter and before the school year starts.
