moccasin fire 2NEAR SPRAGUE RIVER, Ore. — A lot has changed in the past 24 hours on the Moccasin Hill Fire. Fire officials said that both smoke and fire activity has greatly decreased. The fire has been lined but sits at only 15 percent containment.

All mandatory evacuations have been lifted. The acreage has been reduced to an estimated 2,500 acres after crews used special equipment on an aircraft last night to get a better estimate.

The Red Cross shelter is still open. The community has stepped up and donated food, including 2,000 pounds of potatoes from the county food bank.
