MT. MCLOUGHLIN, Ore. — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has located the three missing hikers on Mt. McLoughlin, who were reported missing last night.
The subjects were located down off the hill. They reportedly lost their way on the trail after coming back down from the top. An officer with the sheriff’s office described there is an optical illusion at the top of the mountain, which can confuse hikers coming back down.
Subjects are reportedly fine, though a little sore from long periods of walking. They reportedly walked until it got dark, then stopped for the night, and then started hiking again in the morning. They were located today (Sunday).
