CURRY COUNTY, Ore. — A 97-year-old man is recovering after spending 29 hours stuck down an embankment in Curry County,
The family of Bill Sweet of North Bend called police when he didn’t return home after spending time at his Agness cabin. Last night, a deputy noticed some grass disturbed alongside the road known as the Agness Road.
When he stopped and looked over the embankment, he located Sweet’s vehicle about fifty feet down, resting on its side. Sweet was outside of his vehicle, uninjured, but could not get up the embankment due to the steep terrain and heavy brush,
He was rescued, and treated for dehydration and minor scratches.
