[UPDATE 9:47 P.M.] Jackson County Sheriff’s investigators say they have found a man reported missing earlier this evening.
An employee at the Wendy’s on North Phoenix Highway saw the news reports broadcast at 6 p.m. concerning 39-year-old John Mattos.
Mattos walked away from his adult foster home in Eagle Point. The employee saw Mattos in his restaurant and called the sheriff’s office. Mattos was described as a little disoriented but otherwise not injured.
[ORIGINAL STORY] EAGLE POINT, Ore. — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of a missing and endangered male.
39 year old John C. Mattos, is described as 5 feet 11 inches, about 180 pounds. Mattos was last seen wearing a yellow baseball hat, glasses with tape on one of the eye lenses, a Carhartt sweatshirt or jacket with a hood, blue jeans, and tennis shoes.
Mattos lives at an adult foster home on Capri Drive in Eagle Point. According to caretakers, Mattos became upset and left the facility.
They as describe Mattos as having a brain injury, only one lung, and limited mobility. Mattos was last seen near Rainey’s Market in White City, walking along Antioch Road and Modoc Road.
