Miniature Horse Show In Central Point

mini horseCENTRAL POINT, Ore. — The Jackson County Expo is holding a special event that began on Saturday all about mini horses.

The North by Northwest Miniature Horse Show kicked off this morning with mini horses and trainers from all over the Pacific Northwest. 81 miniature horses, which must be under 34 inches tall, are participating in the two day competition with hopes of qualifying for the world show in Texas.

Event coordinators say they worked hard to get the event up and running, and are glad to have it in the Rogue Valley this year.

“We either have to come down to California or up to Eugene. We haven’t had a miniature horse
show of this caliber here in several years, said Lisa Brostad, the show’s coordinator.

The show continues ton Sunday and begins at 8 a.m.
