MEDFORD, Ore. — This weekend, family and friends will pay tribute to the victim killed in a wrong-way crash last month.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held for Karen Greenstein at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ashland High School.
Her family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Jackson County Animal Shelter and Southern Oregon Humane Society. Greenstein was a volunteer for animal care organizations in the Rogue Valley.
“That request went right through my heart,” said Kenn Altine, Director of the Southern Oregon Humane Society. “To reach out and continue to do the work that was so important to Karen, and to have her family respect that, and we are just so grateful.”
Greenstein also worked at the will-call window for the Ashland Film Festival for the past five years. The festival plans to pay tribute at its awards ceremony on Sunday.
