Medical Marijuana Use Measured In Oregon

MEDFORD, Ore. — Medical marijuana is allowed throughout the state of Oregon with a license. In Southern Oregon, there are a more than average number of patients.

A new study found that statewide, 15 out of every 1,000 residents is a medical marijuana cardholder. In Jackson County, its twice that number; in Josephine County, its nearly three times that amount, making it the highest concentration in the state.

Patients and marijuana producers say they are drawn to the region for its perfect growing climate and live-and-let-live attitude.
