MEDFORD, Ore. — A Medford woman reaches a milestone turning 100 years old and while friends celebrated her birthday, Avamere Waterford Community emphasized the importance of senior health at her party.
Donna Ross was born in Oklahoma and moved to Medford in 1991 with her husband. She ended up retiring at Avamere. The assisted living director says it was perfect to tie in the Annual Senior Health and Fitness day with Donna. He says she is very active, even with her wheelchair and shows that seniors can be healthy.
Donna says her birthday celebration was the best party she has ever had.
“I’m older than I ever was before. That helps. And everybody is so nice to me. And that helps,” says Donna Ross.
Avamere invited local healthcare groups to the party offering blood glucose checks and blood pressure tests for seniors.
