MEDFORD, Ore. — Police say a woman’s hard-to-miss vehicle and reckless behavior landed her in jail. Medford officers arrested Celeste Patton on Monday for drunk driving.
They say Patton was seen pulling up to the north Medford Fred Meyer in her Hummer H-2. She then apparently purchased a bottle of wine and started drinking as she left the parking lot.
Witnesses that followed her say the Hummer was all over the road before it jumped the curb and sheered off a light pole, causing it to lose a tire.
She finally stopped after driving for a while on the axle; officers say she wasn’t only intoxicated, but was also on a prescription medication that slows brain activity.
