Medford Schools Open on Friday

Medford School District is watching the weather conditions. The final decision on school closures happens around 4:30 in the morning.

The superintendent and transportation manager will drive the roads and then decide if there should be late start, school closed, or keeping school open but adjusting the bus routes in the higher levels to snow routes.

“I need to make the call by 5:40 and do the notifications thereafter because transportation starts rolling people clearly need to be thinking about childcare if it’s a late start or whatever it is,” said Medford School Superintendent Dr. Phil Long.

Dr. Long says in the event of a snow storm happening later during school hours they will make a determination at that time. A challenge for Medford schools is the bus transportation since they pick up elementary students first then secondary students after.
