MEDFORD, Ore. — Big-time baseball is back in the Rogue Valley. The Medford Rogues, the newest addition to the West Coast League, debut this summer. To go hand-in-hand with the team’s inaugural season, Harry and David Field is getting a major face lift: An upgrade from nearly 650 seats to about 2,100.
The overhaul comes with a $500,000 price tag, half of that will be donated by the Rogue’s parent company, the other half from community donations. So far, $175,000 has been raised towards the quarter million goal. In just a matter of months, the Rogues need to wrap up fundraising, complete construction and get fans in the seat for opening night.
The Rogues will christen the new ball park with an exhibition game against Klamath Falls on May 31st. The first home regular season game will be June 5th against Bellingham.
