Medford Police Investigate Motel Robbery

[UPDATE 6:30 p.m.] Medford Police said they have made an arrest in a motel robbery. Police say they have identified Andrew Dean Amaral as the suspect in the Armed Robbery. On March 26, 2013 at approximately 2:35 pm, Amaral was located in the downtown area of Medford and taken into custody. He has been lodged at the Jackson County Jail.

MEDFORD, Ore. — Medford Police are looking for the suspect in an early morning robbery at a motel. It all happened at the Millwood Inn on Riverside Avenue just before 4 a.m.

Police say a man requested to rent a room, then pointed a gun at a clerk and demanded money. He escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police say the suspect is possibly a Hispanic man, about 40 to 45 years old, with a dark brown beard and mustache. He was last seen wearing dark jeans and a dark hooded sweatshirt, and stocking cap.
