MEDFORD, Ore. — Three weeks of suspicious fires and a serial arsonist has first responders ready. Each time a new fire breaks out,  a new investigation begins.

Medford Fire and Rescue Station 3 was called to a fire on Lazy Creek Drive on Wednesday night. When they arrived on scene, investigators immediately took control of the scene and began looking for cause.

With the recent string of arson fires in the city, investigators are taking extra care to evaluate each call.

“When there is a series of possibly intentionally set fires, we just, we’re just keeping our eyes open, and we’re just asking everyone else to keep their eyes open too,” said Medford Fire Investigator Chase Browning.

Though the official cause of Wednesday night’s fire is still under investigation, officials have determined it was not arson and not suspicious.
