Marijuana Grow Sites Cleanup

Clean Up Grow SiteNEAR ASHLAND, Ore. — Jackson County Sheriff’s officials are cleaning up old and illegal outdoor marijuana sites on U.S. Forest Service land.

Crews are tackling piles and piles of garbage, camping equipment and other materials left behind of a grow site found back in 2010. A $125,000 grant is funding the clean-up.

The sheriff’s office says in the past, it hasn’t been able to do this because the money wasn’t there. Thursday, the sheriff’s office will be using a helicopter to be used to fly all of the trash out of the area.
