PORTLAND, Ore. — An initiative to get marijuana legalized is on its way to get on the November ballot this year. “New Approach Oregon” collected 100,000 petition signatures so far. The group needs at least 87,000 registered voter signatures to qualify, but they want to make sure to get more than enough.
The measure would tax, legalize and regulate recreational marijuana use in Oregon. The deadline for signatures is July 3rd. If you want to learn more about the petition, you can check out the group’s website at newapproachoregon.com.
