Marijuana Bust in Klamath Falls

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — An Oregon State Police (OSP) traffic stop Thursday afternoon in Klamath Falls led to the arrest of a Wapato, Washington man. After pulling the driver and two passengers over, the trooper discovered approximately 13 pounds of marijuana in the trunk. The driver was cited and later released, while one of the passengers was arrested and remains in custody.

OSP identified the driver as 29-year old Samuel Alcalan. Alcalan’s passengers were both 27 years old, one of whom’s name was released as Mario Serrano-Lopez from Wapato, Washington. The other passenger’s name is unknown, however it is known that she was a female.

The estimated value of the seized marijuana is about $30,000.

Alcalan was cited and released to appear in the Klamath County Circuit Court for unlawful possession and distribution of a controlled substance (marijuana). Serrano-Lopez was taken to the Klamath County Jail for the same charge, while the female passenger was released without being cited or arrested.
