Tsarnaev is accused of being involved in Monday’s fatal bombings at the Boston Marathon. His brother, an alleged accomplice, was killed after an early morning shoot-out with police.

[ORIGINAL STORY] WATERTOWN, Mass. — A massive manhunt is underway for a man police believe is responsible for the bombings at the Boston Marathon. A shooting Thursday evening at a Massachusetts school has left one police officer dead and at least one other injured.

Several hours after FBI released surveillance images of the suspects Thursday evening, an officer on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology was shot and killed on campus. Following that, police received reports of a carjacking by two men. Authorities followed the vehicle into Watertown, a Boston suburb, where a gun fight broke out. It is believed one of the suspects was then shot and immediately taken into custody, while the other managed to flee from the scene.

Police believe that both of these suspects were involved in the Boston Marathon bombings. Authorities have identified them as 19-year old Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev and the deceased suspect, also Tsarnaev’s brother, 26-year old Tamerlan Tsarnaev.

Officials have declared a lockdown on the city, requiring citizens to stay off the streets & refrain from answering the door. Police invaded Watertown, where authorities believe Dzhokhar may be hiding. Public transportation has been suspended, and outgoing flights restricted at this time.

Boston Police believe Dzhokhar to be a terrorist with intentions to kill. High school classmates of Dzhokhar described him as an intelligent, athletic and everyday student. The suspects father spoke out asking his son to step down and ask for forgiveness.
