Man Seriously Injured Rock Climbing

NEAR COOS BAY, Ore. – A 39-year old male was seriously injured Sunday afternoon after a rock climbing accident at the Golden and Silver Falls State Park.

According to Oregon State Police, the man identified as Jeffrey Harden, was climbing a rock wall near a waterfall when he fell approximately 30-40 feet to the rocky ground below.

Harden was treated by Bay Cities Ambulance paramedics before they transported him a few miles from the park to a field where an air ambulance landed. Harden was taken by air to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield.
