Man Injured on Site of Logging Project

APPLEGATE, Ore. — Rescue crews spent a significant amount of time in the mountains of the Applegate Valley on Thursday afternoon after a timber faller was injured.

Croman Logging Company had crews from New Meadows Logging on the site of a helicopter logging project, when a tree fell and hit a man from behind. Rescuers from Applegate Fire were assisted by several other emergency response teams, and had some difficulty reaching the patient.

After some time they were able to airlift him to a nearby command post. He was then transported to Rogue Regency Medical Center.
