MEDFORD, Ore. — A man has been arrested and charged with robbing eleven businesses in the Medford area.
Starting in late November, Medford Police noticed a dramatic spike in business burglaries. Police noticed several similarities in eleven of the reported burglaries to various businesses in the Medford area.
After reviewing surveillance video, police identified 47-year-old Jerry Newton McDonald as the same suspect responsible for most, if not all of the burglaries. On December 7th, Medford Police say Jerry McDonald was arrested on an arrest warrant out of Montana.
McDonald was also charged with Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. McDonald was later charged with several crimes related to the eleven burglary cases on December 18th. His bail has been set at $399,000.
The eleven businesses involved in this case are: Habitat for Humanity; Jackson County Physical Therapy; Aspen Dental; Jackson County Physical Therapy; Quality Tire; Rodda Paint; Ed’s Tire Factory; Jackson County Physical Therapy; Mongolian Grill; Salon Vivid; and Medford Tan. The robberies were reported from November 21st to December 6th of this year.
