ROSEBURG, Ore. — Oregon State Police (OSP) arrested a 26-year old Eugene man on Thursday after his release from a Roseburg-area hospital on charges related to a Sunday morning wrong way driver-involved fatal traffic crash on Interstate 5 about four miles north of Canyonville.
OSP troopers arrested Joshua Davis for manslaughter in the first degree, DUII, and recklessly endangering another person. Davis was lodged in the Douglas County Jail.
On March 3 at approximately 4:25 a.m., a 2000 GMC Yukon sport utility vehicle driven by Davis was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 near milepost 102 when it collided head-on with a southbound 2010 Kia sedan.
The Kia’s driver, 44-year-old Victor Anderson, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Davis was transported by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
