Man Arrested For Contacting Minor

MEDFORD, Ore. — A Medford man is behind bars after attempting to lure at least one 15-year-old into a sexual relationship.

Jackson County Sheriff’s Officers served a search warrant on the 900 block of South Oakdale Street in Medford on Thursday for this investigation, that first began last month.

50-year-old Louis Medcalf is in the Jackson County Jail for attempting to create a sexual relationship through social media sites and text messaging. Jackson County officials say this investigation highlights the importance of monitoring your children while they are online.

Detectives believe he may have contacted other minors online, so if you have any information, you are asked to contact the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office at 541-774-8333. The case remains under investigation.

I can’t believe they set his bail at only $140,000. I think the bail requirements in this state or Jackson County need to be revamped. It appears that the higher the crime the less the bail. His bail should be set closer to $1M

I am so happy that he is finely going go get charged with something. I am one of his first victims. I was only child when I was molested by Louis Medcalf. I never got any justice, nor did a another family member. I hope and pray that they throw the book at him. I would like to thank the person, or person’s that made this happen. THANK YOU!!!!!!
