ROSEBURG, Ore. — A Roseburg man is accused of hitting his father in the face with an ax.
The man’s mother called 9-1-1 Wednesday afternoon to say she was taking her husband, Josiah Goldberg, to the hospital because their 24-year-old son Hunter hit him with an ax.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said Josiah was sitting in a chair in his living room when Hunter came into the room and hit him several times in the head with an ax. They say Josiah was able to take it away from him.
Deputies tried to contact Hunter at the house, but he wouldn’t respond. An hour later, they saw Hunter moving inside the house, so they went inside and arrested him. Goldberg was taken to the Douglas County Jail for attempted murder and first-degree assault.
