MEDFORD, Ore. — Police believe early this morning, a husband shot and killed his wife. One neighbor says the family was nice and hearing about the murder tugs at their heart.
The 6600 block of Pioneer Road is usually a quiet, serene stretch of road, but it’s been anything but that today. Since about noon, forensics team and District Attorney’s officials have been on scene, combing through the home, looking for evidence.
43 year old Bourne Huddleston is the suspect. Police say he murdered his wife, 34 year old Kristy Huddleston. Just after two this morning, medical responders were called to assist a bleeding patient. Teams from five police agencies came on scene and found Kristy Huddleston dead from at least one gunshot wound. They found Bourne Huddleston’s car was missing and put out an ‘attempt to locate’.
One hour later police found Huddleston at an unidentified Eagle Point home one hour later, and he was arrested without incident. The couple’s son, a ten year old boy, was inside the home at the time of the murder and is now being cared for the Department of Human Services. Neighbors we talked to today say they never say any signs of trouble, and the family was quiet and nice.
Neighbors say Huddleston saw some action in the military, serving a couple of tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Detectives and investigators from multiple agencies are working together on this case. They’ve been meeting since early this morning and are looking into what may have caused this or led up to this murder.
