APPLEGATE LAKE, Ore. – The heavy rain the past week has raised reservoir levels at both Lost Creek and Applegate Lakes.
Water was gushing from the base of Applegate Lake at 3,100 cubic feet per second on Wednesday and will remain so for the time being, according to Jim Buck of the Corps of Engineers. The lake level rose about 30 feet with the recent storms.
Large log and debris jams are moving down the lake towards the dam as well. Buck says the Forest Service will corral those and make them available for firewood cutters later.
