MEDFORD, Ore. — Wells Fargo is supporting the typhoon and flood relief effort by giving $125,000 to the American Red Cross and $125,000 to the International Medical Corps.
Southern Oregonians are also reaching out to help those impacted by the typhoon. Providence Medford Medical Center is one of several places receiving calls, asking for help sending help to those victims.
There are several organizations that specifically send money directly to the people in need and providence is helping collect money to be passed along to those organizations.
“I think all of us know someone who’s affected in some way and so were looking for a way to make it better. Finding these organizations and helping push people to the right one is the best way we can come up with to really make sure people are helping,” said Hillary Brown at Providence Medford Medical Center.
Four recommended donation-collecting organizations are the Catholic Relief Services, UNICEF, the Red Cross, or Mercy Corp. These groups have relationships with the Philippines already.
