MEDFORD, Ore. — Local college students are responding to the interest rate efforts.
Vicki Edwards is going to Rogue Community College for Human Services. She says she doesn’t pay a whole lot of attention to interest rates; tuition cost is her main concern.
She says it’s daunting to have that much debt after graduation and while she appreciates efforts to keep interest rates from increasing, she says she’ll continue her education no matter what the rates amount to.
“It’s not an issue for me. I kind of accept the whole entire thing. If I was breaking things down more, it might be more of a concern but I look at the entirety of it,” said student Vicki Edwards.
Edwards says she’s considered trying to pay off her interest before she graduates.
