MEDFORD, Ore. — A pair of local sisters will appear on Wheel of Fortune on Monday evening. Maralee Sheadel and Channin Culley tried out for the game show about a year ago when the Wheel mobile came to Medford. But they weren’t selected at that event.
They didn’t give up at that point. They applied online and auditioned again last July. They got a letter saying they would be on the show and taped the special family episode in Los Angeles in December of 2013.
“Definitely different than sitting on your couch and solving the puzzles because you are on stage and there’s so much to see and so many things to keep in mind … calling the wrong letter and keeping track of the vowels and keeping track of who is in first and if you win this puzzle where you will be,” said Sheadel.
The two sisters have been fans of the show for 30 years. They will be holding a watch party on Monday night. The contestants could not tell us if they won big. The episode airs on NewsWatch 12 at 7:30 p.m.
