ASHLAND, Ore. – A Southern Oregon restaurant is turning profits into vital medical funding today.
Louie’s restaurant in Ashland is donating all of their profits today to cancer research and support for cancer patients. The money goes to Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society.
Volunteers with the Relay were at Louie’s all day registering survivors who wish to volunteer. They’re also holding a special dinner tonight for survivors to celebrate their victory over cancer.
“Everybody’s been touched by cancer,” said Jesse Rapport, the Event Chari. “And the fact that Louie’s is donating a hundred percent of their profits today to the American Cancer Society… People have just been flying in all day.”
Volunteers with the Ashland Relay for Life say they raised $14,000 for cancer research and support so far this year.
They raised $68,000 in total last year.
