Local Police Respond To Newtown Shooting

MEDFORD, Ore. — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office announced they are sending patrols to schools in the county in response to the deadly school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office announced this morning that they are currently currently sending patrol deputies to all schools in the jurisdictional county to address campus safety issues and answer any questions or concerns staff or students may have.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says they send patrols to these same schools on a periodic basis. Deputies are meeting with administration, providing classes when necessary, and building relationships between the school and the Sheriff’s Office, prior to emergency events.

    this is great, but if this is done often, maybe all us parents should know about it and what is said to our children! I can walk directly into my kids HS at anytime during the school day and nobody asks any questions! What if any training have been given to our children? As parents we know on none!

    I feel bad for the kids that died and the teachers that died because of that guy who killed them.
