Local Eagle Scout Collects For Soldiers

MEDFORD, Ore. – In order to help American heroes overseas, one local student is using his Eagle Scout project to help U.S. soldiers.

Bryce Thornton is a junior at Eagle Point High School and an Eagle Scout. Three years ago, Bryce began sending boxes to a family friend stationed in Afghanistan. Since then, with the help of the community, he has shipped more than 2,300 care packages.

His last effort arrived after soldiers returned from a mission and found their base turned upside down. Bryce is collecting donations and packages through September 30th.
