Local Deputy Recognized by the State

Scott WaldonCENTRAL POINT, Ore. — A Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputy is getting state recognition.

Sheriff Deputy Scott Waldon was formally recognized at this year’s DUII Impaired Driving Training Conference. He is one of two officers honored for his work in drug and alcohol recognition in the area. Officials say he received the honor for his work and dedication to drug and alcohol identification in Jackson County.

Walden says, “A lot of times officers find their niche and they find what they like to do best and DUIĀ enforcement is something that I really believe in and think we need to try to get a holdĀ of. And I also think we need to educate the public on how important it is.”

In addition to being a certified drug recognition expert, Walden also teaches a victim impact panel class for first-time DUII offenders.
