Local Clinics Get “Cover Oregon” Grants

MEDFORD, Ore. — Four clinics in Southern Oregon qualify for a grant to help connect residents to “Cover Oregon,” which is the new online health insurance marketplace.

Cover Oregon is supposed to go live later this year. The U.S. Department of Health And Human Services announced the health centers are eligible for an additional $2.8 million.

With the money the centers could hire new staff – train current staff – host outreach events and educational activities.

To get the money La Clinica, Community Health Center, the Klamath Health Department and Siskiyou Community Health Center must apply by the end of the month.
