Local Baby Fighting Cancer Seeks Support

Family Holds Car Wash for MadisonMEDFORD, Ore. — A local baby is fighting liver cancer and her family is asking for help. Madison Powell was crowned the “Chubbiest Baby” in this year’s Pear Blossom Contest. She was diagnosed just three weeks after winning that title. Her family held a car wash Saturday to try and gather support from the community. Madison was put in an induced coma for six days to recover from a biopsy and then began chemotherapy shortly after. Medical bills are piling up and family members say they expect treatment to last for years to come.

“In our world today, it seems sometimes we’re just so alone in this world of millions of people. But when you need help, people really come through and that’s what we have seen,” said Madison’s father Joseph Powell.

There is a donation account set up for Madison on GoFundMe.com and also at any Wells Fargo Bank. For more information, click here.
