Limits on Pot Dispensaries

Medical MarijuanaCENTRAL POINT, Ore. — Just a day ahead of medical marijuana dispensaries becoming legal in Oregon, another city has decided to limit them. Starting Monday, Oregonians will be able to apply for a medical marijuana dispensary licence.

The Central Point City Council has decided it will limit where dispensaries can be located. Dispensaries in Central Point will only be allowed in areas zoned for commercial business and also will not be allowed within 500 ft of a home.

Meanwhile, in Salem, lawmakers still haven’t decided whether local governments can ban marijuana dispensaries. Today, the U.S. House of Representatives are expected to take up the bill to allow cities to ban dispensaries. However, the Senate’s version of the bill, forbids outright bans.

You know I think it’s funny, All you people have know idea. All of you think that a dispensaries are going to be open to everybody like a bar. They are not, they are for OMMP card holder’s only. If I wanted to open a bar, nobody would say anything. Oregon law say’s you cannot have a strip club with in 1000 feet of a school or park. So with that being said, let’s talk about that dive called the office downtown. It’s less than a 1000 feet from RCC, and it’s less than 1000 feet from Hawthorn park. But somehow they were able to get and Medford granted them a business lic. If Medford is going to tell me I cannot have or get my med’s because of the law. Then Medford should pull there head out and look at the illeagle strip club there allowing downtown.
