MEDFORD, Ore. — A Medford sixth grader received a letter from the country’s highest court.
U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor sent a letter to 6th grade student Fernanda Lopez. It was a response to the letter Fernanda wrote to the justice.
The Howard Elementary School student recently did a project on Judge Sotomayor. It inspired her to write to her new role model.
“I told her it was so amazing what she did for Hispanics,” said Fernanda.
Fernanda says she is also planning to follow in Sotomayor’s footsteps, by becoming a lawyer and then a judge.
