Lawsuit in Wake of Ferguson Protests

ferguson 2FERGUSON, Mo. — The police department in Ferguson, Missouri is now at the center of a multi-million dollar lawsuit.

Six people filed the federal lawsuit yesterday, claiming police violated their civil rights during protests following the shooting of a Ferguson teenager by a police officer. The lawsuit asks for 40-million dollars in damages from the city of Ferguson, Saint Louis County, as well as the city and county police departments and police chiefs.

The suit accuses police of making false arrests and assault and battery in the unrest following the shooting.
