Late Errors Doom OSU Against Stanford

STANFORD, CA. – Two top 10 teams competed in Northern California with a shot at the Pac-12 title still on the line. The Cardinal jumped out to a two-touchdown lead early in the 1st quarter, but Cody Vaz and the Beavers responded emphatically.

The Beavers forced four turnovers and scored 23 unanswered points until Stanford’s freshman quarterback Kevin Hogan connected with Stepfan Taylor for a 40-yard scamper to cut the Beavers lead to two heading into the 4th quarter.

The OSU offense would allow two huge sacks which would cost the 11th ranked Beavers the game. With under 9 minutes remaining, Josh Mauro sacked Vaz and forced a fumble that Stanford would recover. They would score on the next possession and go on to win 27-23. The Beavers will host California next week.
