La Clinica Opens School Health Clinic

CENTRAL POINT, Ore. — la clinicaLa Clinica is expanding their services to Scenic Middle School in Central Point starting Monday.

This is the first time la Clinica is offering a full-on clinic in a middle school.  They already have clinics available at other schools in Central Point.  There will be a nurse and a nurse practitioner available five days a week during school hours.  It’s available for any student or their siblings enrolled at the school, ages two through 18.   La Clinica said the new clinic will help give convenient access to students throughout their entire school career.

“It’s convenient for parents… for the schools… the kids can be seen and return back to class. .. they’re not being taken out for an extended amount of time… you know… illnesses we can catch them early so they don’t develop into something bigger and that they miss school so it’s a win-win for all,” said Elise Travertini, La Clinica’s school-based health center site coordinator.

The new clinic will also have a mental health therapist readily available starting in October.
