KLAMATH COUNTY, Ore. — A Klamath County man was convicted for child sex abuse on Monday. A jury found Juan Carlos Diaz guilty of 2 counts of unlawful sexual penetration, 4 counts of rape, and 8 counts of sodomy.
During the trial, jurors heard about the abuse, which lasted for nearly two years and started when the victim was 10. The District Attorney’s Office says the Klamath/Lake Cares and The Crisis Center played a pivotal role is supporting the young girl so she could take the stand, which is required by Oregon law.
Diaz could potentially face 300 years in prison, his sentencing is scheduled for November.
