KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – After announcing he would not run for re-election in November, Klamath County Sheriff Tim Evinger is getting support as a write-in candidate.
A grassroots effort is trying to rally support for the incumbent sheriff on the November ballot. Evinger has served as sheriff for the past 12 years, and had previously said he would not seek re-election. Now, Evinger says he would choose to stay on if supporters are able to elect him as a write-in candidate.
Evinger says he has been looking for work outside of Klamath County, and says he may still choose to take another job before the election.
