MEDFORD, Ore. — A local organization hopes to improve education for at-risk students.
Kids Unlimited is working with the Medford School District to open a charter school. The organization submitted its application and it will be reviewed by district officials for the next 60 days.
Kids Unlimited Director Tom Cole said the proposed charter school could help many of the kids and families the organization sees on a regular basis.
“Some families that have both financial challenges and language challenges, and we’ve found a lot of strengths in those relationships and helping them overcome different hurdles, to ultimately be advocates for their children’s educations,” said Cole.
If the plan is approved, Kids Unlimited says the charter school could open as early as August.
