KBRA/KHSA Nixed By Klamath County

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — It’s official: Klamath County is no longer part of the Klamath Basin Restoration Agreement or the Klamath Hydro Settlement Agreement.

As expected, county commissioners on Tuesday signed the order revoking action taken by the previous board of commissioners to be part of the “KBRA” and “KHSA” agreements.

Board members say that does not mean they no longer will seek to bring parties together to get an agreement on management of the Basin’s water supplies, but the move to pull out of the agreement is one they say they hope will make way for inclusion of other water users whom they say were excluded from talks.
