NEAR SAWYERS BAR, Calif. — While most of the crews brought in to work on the July Complex are from California agencies, some personnel are being brought in from out of state.
Brian Leitinger was brought in from Minnesota, and has been working on the fire for more than two weeks. He said he will probably stay on the fire for at least another week.
Though fire officials are able to bring in some of of state resources, others, like water supply are still lacking locally. Though the drought is not something the out of state crews are used to, they are using some of their own techniques.
“We’re implementing the plan, which involves utilizing a sprinkler system that was actually developed in Minnesota,” said Leitinger.
The July Complex is still growing, and fire officials plan to take advantage of whatever resources they came, no matter where they may come from.
