The ridge over the nation will be shifting west over the weekend bringing much hotter temperatures across the region. The valleys and northern California will be seeing 90s today and upper-90s by Sunday with some 100s possible. Next week we’ll have a few degrees of a cool down but well above normal temperatures are expected through early next week.
Thunderstorm chances still exist Sunday afternoon through early next week, more so east of the cascades, but the valleys and mountains have a chance for some thunderstorms as well. They will be isolated and scattered.
With the heat of the summer upon us remember to stay hydrated and stay cool this holiday weekend. Remember to wear sunscreen and re-apply thoughout the day. Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke and the appropriate repsonses to both.
Have a happy and safe holiday weekend and try to stay cool!
