Josephine County Replaces Dispatch System

GRANTS PASS, Ore. — The dispatch center in Josephine County is getting an upgrade helping crews get to people faster in emergency situations.

The Grants Pass Department of Public Safety says the dispatch center has been using software developed in the 1990’s. But with the new system, officers say dispatchers will be able to send send and recieve information in real time.

The new system will also have a detailed map system where dispatchers can track every ambulance and police car. The software is funded by the city’s general fund and federal grants.
