GRANTS PASS, Ore. — As the smoke has cleared, organizers at the Josephine County Fair hope it’s a good sign for this week’s event.
Workers spent Monday setting up rides, booths, and activities at the fairgrounds. They say it’s been chaotic, but that everything has gone according to plan.
This year some of the big events at the fair include the Big Cats exhibit, Monster Truck, Destruction Derby and the world’s fastest diesel truck.
“The tractors are already coming in, the miners are all set up, the 4-H booths are all set up, the open classes are all setting up,” fairgrounds manager, Mary Groves, said. “They really did a good job of decorating everything this year.”
The fair runs Wednesday through Saturday. Fair workers say they will be ready to make changes if the smoke returns to the area later this week.
