Josephine County Pays off Deficit

New Josephine Co. Fairgrounds ManagerGRANTS PASS, Ore. — The Josephine County Fairgrounds is getting a big financial boost from the county. Commissioners are giving $315,000 from their general fund.

The decision was made Wednesday night after several years of declining fair revenue. According to the commissioners, the fairgrounds will use the money to pay off the deficit.

The county took the funding from the general fund because they did not have enough money to pay the deficit off. The $315,000 is a grant, not a loan.

Why couldn’t that money be used for the jail or the sheriffs office? This is why your budget always gets voted down. The money is there but spent irresponsibly.
