Josephine Co. Faces Sex Abuse Lawsuit

GRANTS PASS, Ore. – Josephine County is being targeted in a multi-million dollar child sex abuse lawsuit. That lawsuit claims a former Josephine County juvenile probation officer molested teenage boys over a period of several years in the 1990s.

The alleged victim is now seeking $6 million from the county. That lawsuit is being brought forward by a man who is now in his 30s. His attorney his not releasing his name, but he says the plaintiff was molested by his juvenile probation officer in the early ’90s.

That officer, Raymond Lucky, committed suicide in 1994, while being investigated for sex abuse, according to the suit. The lawsuit alleges that lucky used his position to molest a number of teenage boys under his supervision. The plaintiff’s attorney says it’s his opinion that the county failed to keep those boys safe.

Lucky had been with the county’s juvenile justice department for more than ten years before taking his own life. NewsWatch12 put in multiple calls to Josephine County’s legal counsel, but messages were not returned. The plaintiff’s attorney believes other alleged victims could come forward as the lawsuit moves along.
